LEARNING LIFTOFF
About me
Welcome to my website! Before you start navigating through my tutorials, here is some info about me so you can trust you aren’t learning from a complete stranger!
My teaching career started unexpectedly when I worked as an after-school monitor and substitute teacher at an elementary school for 7 years. Initially, my goal was to become a full-time math and science teacher, as these were the subjects I often taught and helped students with in their homework.
This experience sparked a passion for education, which I carried with me through a significant pivot (insert excel pun) in my academic career. Initially, I started my BCOMM in Management, but after taking COMM 217 (intro to financial accounting), I discovered I was good at accounting. This realization led me to switch my major to accounting in 2020!
My commitment to accounting grew as I took on the role of head TA for COMM 305, a position I held for 3.5 years! Additionally, I supported students as a TA for every other managerial accounting course at Concordia at both undergraduate (ACCO 330 & ACCO 435) and MBA levels (MBA 649).

Our journey unveiled
More about my journey and how I could help you
After graduating during the challenging times of COVID in 2022, I started graduate school at Concordia for my CPA and worked at KPMG for two years. While working at KPMG full-time and studying for my CPA, I tutored privately as a CASA tutor because I was addicted to teaching, and couldn’t stop. Most people would try to quit their addiction, not me, I am no quitter, so I kept teaching! (That was my attempt at being funny, I actually kept teaching not only because I love it and it’s what I want to do as a career, but in order to keep up the material for when I apply to become a professor!)
Currently, I am in the process of obtaining my CPA license as I completed all required work hours and passed the CPA exam in 2023! Now I am waiting for the license in order to apply to become a professor at Concordia where I can have a greater impact and provide more opportunities to learn for a larger number of students!
I look forward to connecting with you! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, whether it be about school or even your career, I am happy to help! Let’s make accounting a little less boring by getting out of the basement, putting on a video, and laughing (or crying) our way through 30+ hours of recordings!
As Dr. Aly would say, “Keep Hope Alive”, and again please don’t hesitate to reach out anytime!
Let’s save the C’s for your other COMM classes and bring the A’s to your ACCOUNTING classes!! 😊
